June 2004

My brother Andy and were invited to go to the Great Canadian Pitchfest in Banff, Alberta to pitch our tv show. We of course went and had meetings with about 15 different producers from around North America and got some great feedback and advice on how to move our show forward. As always, there is a lot of work ahead for us, but we received so much support, encouragement, and praise... so we're obviously on the right track!

Andy and I were hired to do impersonations at a Gala party the night before the pitchfest. For a couple hours we roamed around the two rooms where the party was held and interacted with the audience. It was a ton of fun, and a great way to get noticed since there were of course producers and other professinals in the industry in attendance. I was Austin Powers and Andy was Ace Ventura.

"Yeah baby, yeah!"

"Alrighty then!"

Psycle, the independent film that I had the lead role in, won best comedy at the 18th Annual National Student Film & Video Festival in Regina, Saskatchewan. It was quite surprising, since I didn't even consider it a comedy, but I guess it was, and the best one at the festival! I'll be putting a couple clips from the film on the video page soon, so be sure to check those out.

The organizer of The Great Canadian Pitchfest told me that she had a bunch of people ask her about me and Andy after we did our impersonations at the Gala. One contacted us and asked if we'd be interested in doing the same impersonations at the Hots Shots High School Film Festival. We of course were, and had a great time playing it up for the crowd!

"Very groovy baby!"

"Lehoo-zeher!"

It was also my birthday this month and my friend Matt threw me a party. He rented three rooms for the party and played some videos of stuff I've been in on a huge screen. After the cake and presents we headed off to a club to dance (of course).
