December 2007

I hope everyone had a good time over the holidays season!  I spent a very cold Hanukkah with my relatives in Calgary and a very rainy, but nice and relaxing Christmas at home in Vancouver.

Here's what happened in December:

  • Filmed/taught during a residency at an elementary school in Calgary.  Spent 1 week at a school making little movies with the students and then spent the following week editing them together for the big premiere showing at the school.
  • Did a murder mystery with my brother while I was in Calgary as well, playing the body guard for an Italian godfather. I love it when I get to play roles that I would never normally be cast in!
  • Got a copy of one of the scenes I did for a student project that I recently did.  You can see it at http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=_DEhjGuh_z4
  • I was asked to be a celebrity judge for a night during a show put on by an improve troupe in Vancouver.  It was a lot of fun and I may join in with the show myself in the near future.
  • Chosen to be a dancer for the opening act of the Deborah Cox performance that will be happening in February.  I’m really excited to be doing a dancing gig again after not having one for a few years now.
  • Flew to Calgary again to MC a wedding for an old friend.  It was a great time and everyone seemed to enjoy my somewhat cheesy and often just-under-the-line jokes!

News on what's coming up:

  • I’ll be getting copies of more of the scenes I was in for that student project which I’ll put up on YouTube.
  • I’ve been hired to videotape and edit real estate web videos on a long term freelance basis for a Calgary company that’s branching out into Vancouver.  It’ll be nice to have some relatively steady work again!
  • Returning to Calgary yet again for my grandmother’s 90th birthday party.
  • Finding an agent!  Now that the holidays season is over and I have some more material for my demo reel, I’ll be making it a priority to get a good agent to represent me in Vancouver.

That's all for now!  Thanks for reading and Happy New Year!
