April 2007

Happy Spring!

Holy toledo Batman, have I ever been busy! Some days I'd have a Munschapalooza show, two or three Puppets for Peace shows, teach a couple acting classes, and edit a video! Crazy.

The highlights of April (besides the aforementioned stuff) included:
- acting in The Arabian Market, which had over 400 people in attendance. I wasn't sure how my performance in the show would go over, but someone signed my web site guestbook with a comment saying they really liked my acting, and my friends who saw the show said they liked it, so that was cool.
- videotaping events during the Outgames for OUTtv. I spend a few days with another regular on OUTtv from Toronto covering the week long festival. It will air repeatedly on OUTtv for quite a while I'm sure, and I introduced each segment on air, so I'll be getting even more exposure on that channel now.
- videotaped my grandparents at the Holocaust Remembrance Events for the documentary that I'm (very slowly) working on about their lives during the second world war.
- restarted The $1000 YouTube Experiment Video. After getting more media attention about how I had to end the experiment because YouTube took it off of their ranking system, they then put it back on, and I'm now in the top 40 most discussed of all time. Go add some comments - the more you comment, the better your odds of winning some of my moolah!
wink

Otherwise, a couple murder mysteries, standardized patient gigs at the Medical Skills Centre, and all the other the "usual" stuff.

News on what's coming up:

- a short film that I was in called "It Came From Somewhere..." will be showing at the Herland Film Festival on May 10.
- my brother & I will be producing a second season of Brothers TV to air this summer during primetime on OUTtv and late night on Access, which we're very excited about! We'll start shooting at the end of June.
- I'm going to New York for a week in June with one of my best friends who lives in Australia - this has nothing to do with me performing, but hooray for going to NYC! :-D
- in celebration of a big birthday for me and in an attempt to raise some money so I don't lose my life savings (again!) making a new season of Brothers TV, I'm throwing a HUGE birthday party fundraiser on June 23. Complete details will come in next month's newsletter, but for now please book that night off and invite anyone and everyone - it's gonna be a ton of fun!!!

Ok, I think that covers it! If you have facebook add me as a friend (just search Josh Rimer). I'm addicted to that site... well, as addicted as I can be with my schedule... but still addicted none the less. Such a great tool for keeping in touch with everyone I've ever met before! lol

Ciao for now and thanks for staying up to date!
